Fitness Program Overview

Our Founders and Directors, Dr. Marc & Vicki Sorenson bring nutritional and health education to the core of NIHF's top weight loss program. Their lectures on safe weight loss programs have galvanized attendees, empowering them to reclaim their health. The NIHF education series encompasses Dr. Marc & Vicki Sorenson's signature approach to weight loss, and emphasizes ways to prevent and manage common medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.


Program Focus 1: Fitness

Exercise plays an integral part of success during our time in Midway and thereafter. Our exercise program and fitness camp encompasses hiking, walking and group classes such as yoga, Zumba, Pilates, body contouring and aqua exercise. You may be inspired to partake in other activities too, like tennis, swimming, weight training, cardio, golf and scuba diving.

Each guest will have a fitness evaluation, including blood pressure, body composition and measurements, pH balance, and weigh-in. Results from a cardiovascular workup will indicate the appropriate fitness group and fitness camp program.

Our program—overseen by caring professionals who emphasize hard work, motivation and acceptance—value realistic lifestyle changes, not fleeting results. And although activities can be vigorous at times, guests are not forced to work beyond their capabilities.


Program Focus 2: Nutrition

We serve three delicious meals per day and extra food when necessary. The meals, dense in nutrition but not in calories, aid in fat loss and assure maximum health benefits. The program's cuisine suits both vegans and non-vegans.

Healthy cooking classes inspire our guests to continue this new lifestyle at home.


Program Focus 3: Education

Regularly scheduled classes on weight control, nutrition, cancer, diabetes, heart health and fitness are an integral part of NIHF. Guests will receive expert instruction from Dr. Sorenson and others on techniques to maintain slim, healthier bodies.
