Star Wars Toys Reveal New Characters | The Last Jedi

Warned of spoilers, you are.

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has us primed for the next chapter of the Skywalker story. Unfortunately, we’ve got a long wait ahead of us. But that’s a lot of time for leaks and spoilers to come spilling out. And a new list of Star Wars toys which has surfaced might reveal some exciting details about Episode IIX. Consider yourselves warned spoiler-phobes.

The list of toy names popped up on Reddit a few days ago. The list is for merchandise that will be released on Force Friday. But Force Friday isn’t until September, and it’s unclear if we’ll get any details about this list before then. There are some well-known names on the list. Some others are obviously code-names.

The list contains some familiar names like Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Vader, and Lando Calrissian. Chances are though that we won’t be seeing any of them in Star Wars: Episode IIX. There is a rumor about a Jedi Council of force ghosts with Luke. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that we would see Liam Neeson reprising his Episode I role anytime soon.

But it also has some names we haven’t seen before like “Cool Beta,” “Foxtrot,” and “Victor.” Most of the speculation around this list right now is if these are code names for already known Star Wars characters or new ones.

The best guess right now is that “Victor” is the menacing Snoke from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The different variations, including the throne and Guards of Evil, make that feel like a safe bet. But that still leaves “Foxtrot” and “Cool Beta.”

There are some actors whose roles haven’t yet been confirmed in The Last Jedi. Benecio Del Toro and Laura Dern could easily be playing characters with those exact names. But it seems unlikely. Instead, “Foxtrot” and “Cool Beta” are probably code-names. But from whom could they be code names? And what would their real names reveal about The Last Jedi? We don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out.

What do you think? Who could “Foxtrot” and “Cool Beta” be? Why keep them hidden from us? Do they bring us any closer to understanding Rey’s mysterious origins? We’ll be posting our theories later in the week.

Until then, let us know what you think in the comments or on Twitter or Facebook. And be sure to keep checking back for all your Star Wars news leading up to the release of Episode IIX this Winter.
