Pop Culture Recommendations
What I’ve Been Watching: I finally caught up on one of my favorite Apple TV+ shows, Servant. The third season of the M. Night Shamalyan produced series continues to walk the line between the coincidental and the paranormal, while raising the stakes significantly. It’s one of the few shows on right now that I think about even when it’s not on.
What I’ve Been Reading: I’ve been utterly taken in by the murder mystery novel Cain’s Jawbone. It’s a 100 page mystery story, written in the style of a James Joyce novel, with all the pages out of order. The reader needs to unscramble the pages to solve the mystery. Supposedly, only three people have solved it since 1934. I should have it figured out any day now.
What I’ve Been Playing: Like many gamers, I’ve been taken in by the existential beauty of Annapurna’s newest game, Stray. It’s a beautiful game in which players control a cat who has to maneuver through a series of platform levels. It’s a delightfully zenned out gaming experience.
What I’ve Been Listening To: I’m a human being with two ears and a heart, so I’ve been listening to Beyonce’s new album, Renaissance. It’s transcendant, and if you haven’t heard it yet you’re missing out. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest streaming channel.
