Game of Thrones | Episode 704 | 'The Spoils of War' | Aired Aug. 6th, 2017 The abbreviated seventh season of HBO's hit series, Game of Thrones, was always fated to have a rigid plot. From the show's earliest episodes, we understood the broad strokes of the finale. The impending threat from the North, which we saw in the cold open- no pun intended- of episode one would take precedence over the game of thrones. In the fight against the White Walkers, true allegiances would form and the seven kingdoms would unite. As those alliances begin to form, we've seen many characters reunited after a long time apart from one and other. Whereas last week's episode featured Jon and Danny meeting each other for the first time, this week was all about characters being re-introduced to each other. Many of our favorite Game of Thrones characters were once close to one and other. But the years have torn them apart for most of the show's run. As they reunite, they are finding each other to be different people than the ones who they remember.
