What I’ve Been Watching: Maggie and I spent the weekend watching The Deep End, a docu-series on Hulu about Teal Swan and her
cultspiritual collective. It’s two parts Soap Opera to one part true crime cult documentary. Aka, my dream show.What I’ve Been Reading: Despite the many, many comic books I should be cracking open after last weekend’s Comic Con panels, I decided to re-read all of Invincible. For those who aren’t aware, it’s a super hero story by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Outcast). Anyone who enjoyed the first season of the show on Amazon should definitely seek out the first compendium of the comic. It rules.
What I’ve Been Eating: After almost 40 years, Klondike is officially retiring the Choco Taco. Get ‘em while they’re cold, I guess…
What I’ve Been Playing: For anyone who has ever looked at a kitty cat and thought “man, what a life!” Stray is a new video game that may be of interest. Players control a cat separated from its clowder. Over the course of the game, you’ll conquer complex platforming puzzles, outrun futuristic robots, and meow your little tail off. It’s a delightful game that’s as beautiful as it is fun to play.
What I’ve Been Listening To: As a person who loves movies™, I’m always trying to learn more about how films work. And in that spirit, I’ve started listening to the audiobook version of Story by Robert McKee. His understanding of narrative and motivation is unparalleled. I learn something new about movies on each and every page.
